How to Obtain a Work Permit for Maryland:

  • Go to the website below and click” Apply for a permit online”.

  • The minor applies for a permit online and prints the permit.

  • The minor signs the permit.

  • The minor's parent or guardian signs the permit.

  • The employer signs the permit and then keeps the permit on file. 

  • A new permit must be submitted when you change employers.

How to Obtain a Work Permit for Delaware:

  • Go to the website below and click to download permit

  • Complete the section marked “minor”. If you are 14 or 15 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must sign the permit.

  • Take the permit to your employer and ask them to complete the section marked” Employer”. Email the completed permit, and a copy of your government issued ID( birth certificate, license, state ID, passport)  to workpermits@delaware.gov.

  • When you receive the completed permit back from the Delaware Dept of Labor, give the permit to the employer to keep on file.

  • A new permit must be submitted when you change employers
